The Junior Common Room is the beating heart of undergraduate life at New College. We are the elected body that represents every undergraduate student — your advocates, your event organisers, your welfare support, and your bridge to the college and the wider University.
From negotiating with the college on matters of accommodation and academic policy, to running the legendary bops and garden parties, the JCR exists to ensure that your time at New College is as extraordinary as the institution itself.
We manage a substantial budget funded by battels contributions, channelling resources into welfare provisions, entertainment, clubs and societies, and the physical JCR space itself - a room that has been a sanctuary for students since the college's founding in 1379.
